9 members of Russian criminal gang arrested in Brooklyn

Nine people who were arrested in the court of Brooklyn the day before, representatives of the FBI are called members of the Russian mafia. Moreover, quite influential. The indictment states that all detainees are suspected of being closely associated with Russian thieves in law.

He had already been convicted in the United States and deported to Ukraine in 2005, but then Tsvetkov was allowed to enter the United States. Moreover, Tsvetkov was granted asylum in the United States, as he stated that he was subjected to torture after deportation to Ukraine. Also in the dock are Leonid Gershman, Renat Yusufov, Igor Krugly, Vyacheslav Malkeev, Isaac Aronov, Yusuf Pardilov and Librado Rivera.

The indictment, writes NY Daily News, contains 10 counts. Including racketeering, extortion, illegal gambling, drug trafficking.

“All defendants are members of an international crime syndicate and report directly to Russian crime lords who reside in Eastern Europe,” the indictment says.

In particular, as reported by the FBI, the extortionists demanded $ 200 thousand from one of the victims. Basically, according to the publication, the extortionists acted in areas of New York Coney Island and Brighton Beach.

Illegal poker games were organized on Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn, and the building was disguised as a car rental service.
