The most powerful hurricane of the season has formed in the Atlantic Ocean - Florence
After a very calm August, the hurricane season in the Atlantic Ocean is gaining momentum - several storms formed in its waters at the beginning of September.
One of them is Hurricane Florence, which formed in the Central Atlantic. September 5 he reached the third category hurricane, becoming the first major hurricane of the 2018 season of the year, writes NBC.
Florence is located approximately 1 185 miles (1 907 km) northeast of the Leeward Islands, wind force in a hurricane reaches 120 miles (193 km) per hour.
Florence is expected to continue to gain strength over the next few days. This storm can potentially affect the weather on the east coast of the United States, but will not land.
However, forecasts are still subject to change, as there are still a few days left until Florence approaches the US.
In addition to Florence, two more storms formed in the ocean that have the potential to become tropical cyclones or hurricanes.
One of them is concentrated a few hundred miles southwest of the Cape Verde Islands and has an 90% chance to turn into a tropical cyclone over the next 5 days.
Another storm moves off the west coast of Africa and has an 30% chance to develop into a tropical cyclone over the next 5 days.
