Chickens for McDonald`s will be grown without antibiotics
Today, the American branch of McDonald`s announced new initiatives on the sources of products for the menu, which include the use of exclusively chickens grown without antibiotics, which is very important for human health. Restaurants will also offer visitors milkshakes made from white milk of low fat content and skimmed chocolate milk obtained from cows that have not been injected with the artificial growth hormone p-BST.
“Our customers want food they can feel good about eating from farm to restaurant, and these initiatives will help us meet their expectations,” said McDonald's US President Mike Andres.
McDonald`s worked for many years in close cooperation with farmers in order to reduce the use of antibiotics to the supplied poultry meat. The new policy also supports the company's program “Large-scale vision of antimicrobial regulation in animal husbandry”, presented this week.
