Trump commented on the rumors about the lifting of sanctions against Russia
On January 27, after talks with British Prime Minister Theresa May, US President Donald Trump gave the first press conference as president of the country.
Asked about upcoming telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which should be held on 28 in January, Trump said that it is too early to talk about the lifting of sanctions against Russia, reports CNN.
“A telephone conversation was scheduled, and we will see what happens; so far It’s too early to talk about lifting sanctions against Russia,” Trump said.
He added that the US would strive to develop "excellent relationships" with all countries and their leaders, including Russia and China, but conceded that this "may not happen."
British Prime Minister Theresa May, in turn, noted that anti-Russian sanctions should be lifted only after the full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
