Trump said his words about North Korea's response with "fire and fury" were not tough enough

US President Donald Trump believes that his statement that the new threats to Pyongyang Washington will be met with “unprecedented fire and fury” was not tough enough. The American leader told reporters about this on Thursday.

“Perhaps the statement was not strong enough,” he said.

Trump said that past administrations of US presidents did not pay enough attention to the DPRK. He also expressed concern that the sanctions would not act against a rogue state.

“The people of our country are safe, our allies are safe. But North Korea had better come to its senses, otherwise they will face troubles that few countries in the world have encountered,” the head of state assured.

At the same time, Trump said that the United States is “always considering negotiations.”

Let us recall that on Tuesday Donald Trump told reporters that the DPRK should no longer make threats to the United States. He promised to respond to the attacks with “fire and fury the likes of which the world has never seen.”

Later, the North Korean TSTAK agency reported that the Republican army is developing a plan for applying preventive rocket strike on US military facilities in Guam, including Andersen airbase, where strategic bombers B-52 (B-52) are stationed.

The situation on the Korean Peninsula remains extremely tense against the backdrop of Pyongyang's active development of its nuclear missile program. In July, the DPRK twice tested ballistic missiles, which provoked a sharp reaction from the United States, Japan and South Korea. Washington has repeatedly noted that with regard to the North Korean problem, it does not rule out a single option of action, including a military one.
