US President Donald Trump announced the resignation of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. CIA Director Mike Pompeo will become the new head of the State Department. Trump reported in Twitterthat dismisses the head of the US Department of State and will replace him with the head of the CIA Pompeo. Earlier Tuesday, the newspaper reported on the resignation of Tillerson Washington Post.

Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova commented on the resignation of US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Facebook.

“November 2017: President Trump denied the possible replacement of Secretary of State Tillerson with CIA head Pompeo. March 2018: President Trump confirmed that Pompeo will take the post of US Secretary of State instead of Tillerson,” Zakharova wrote.
