Storm Gordon came to the land: there are first victims. VIDEO

Tropical storm Gordon came out on dry land on the border of Alabama and Mississippi late Tuesday, reports FOX 10 with reference to officials.

The National Meteorological Service has issued several warnings about tornadoes in southern Alabama and in the northwest.

It was reported that the storm knocked down trees and flooded the highway when moving inland. Damage was not immediately reported.

Near 20: 40 in Escambia, Florida, a tree fell on a mobile home in Pensacola. The county sheriff's office said that a child died in an accident, whose name and age were not reported.

Gordon went out to land around 22 hours of the evening, and is expected to lose strength, moving through the lower Mississippi valley on Wednesday, reports the National Hurricane Center (NHC). The strength of the storm did not reach hurricane status.

The National Meteorological Service warned that the Styx River near Elsanor may break out of its banks later on Wednesday.

Gordon moved 112 km south of Mobile, Alabama, and approximately 120 km southeast of Biloxi. A steady wind force is 112 km / h.

The National Hurricane Center stated that Gordon's “eye” is located approximately 48 km southeast of Biloxi, Mississippi, or 56 km south of Mobile, Alabama, where torrential rains and winds intensified shortly before darkness fell.

The hurricane warning remained valid for areas extending from the mouth of the Pearl River in Mississippi to the border of Alabama and Florida.

The storm wave warning also remained for Shell Beach, Louisiana and Dauphin Island.

President Trump on Tuesday urged residents to adhere to the leadership of officials, adding that the government is “ready to help.”

"To everyone in #Gordon's path, please listen to the advice of state and local officials and follow @NHC_Atlantic for updates," Trump tweeted. — The federal government is ready to help. Be safe!

The governors of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana declared a state of emergency, which allowed them to quickly mobilize public resources and National Guard troops to assist during and after the storm.

Approximately 200 members of the National Guard of Louisiana were involved during a storm, the National Guard reported on Tuesday.
