The fisherman filmed how three whales simultaneously jumped out of the water: even experienced oceanographers envy this video

New Hampshire resident Robert Addy, who celebrated his birthday in the ocean with his three daughters, filmed three humpback whales jumping out of the water in near unison. CBS.

The “ballet” of whales on video is so rare that even ocean scientists can envy.

“It was such an inspiring sight! It's just unbelievable," Addy said.

The Portsmouth man, now a home renovator, has spent decades on the water as a commercial fisherman in Massachusetts and Alaska. During this time he saw thousands of whales.

But he had never seen anything like it - three whales emerged from the water in unison on July 24 while tuna fishing off Cape Cod. The excursion with his daughters was timed to coincide with the man’s 59th birthday, and also in honor of his safe return from a trip with humanitarian aid to Ukraine. There he came under heavy artillery fire.

Addy was attempting to film several humpback whales about 275 meters from his boat. At first he had no luck, but eventually the "hunter" received what he called the "whale ballet."

Whale experts told him the aerial maneuvers could be an attempt to get rid of parasites or aid digestion.

Addy has another theory: "I have a feeling they may have been teaching or training a young whale."

“Even some of the whale experts who contacted me are jealous because they have never seen anything like it,” he said.
