Russian boxer Maxim Dadashev died in the United States as a result of injuries received during the fight, held on the night of July 20. About it TASS on Tuesday reported to the athlete team.

“Maxim died. My heart couldn’t stand it,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

On Saturday night, Dadashev held a duel in Oxon Hill (USA, Maryland) with Puerto Rican Subriel Matias for the right to become a mandatory contender for the IBF world welterweight title (up to 63,5 kg).

In the 11 round, Dadashev missed a lot of punches, which is why the Russian athlete team decided to stop the fight to protect the boxer's health.

After the fight, Dadashev felt bad, he vomited, and then he lost consciousness, the Russians in critical condition were taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with severe brain swelling. The athlete was held trepanation of the skull.

Dadashev was 28 years old, he had 14 fights in the professional ring, won 13 victories (11 by knockout) and suffered one defeat - from Matias. In his amateur career, he became a silver medalist (2013) and a two-time bronze medalist (2010, 2012) at the Russian championships.
