Frozen alive: in Wisconsin, a family killed a child for not knowing the Bible

Two adults and a teenager received charges of killing a seven-year-old boy in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. Guardians appointed by the court tortured the boy to death as a punishment for failing to remember the biblical lines.

15-year-old Damian Haushulz was accused of first-degree murder by negligence, and six more charges were added to this, including physical abuse of a child and the infliction of particularly serious bodily injuries, reports FOX 11.

Damian's father, Timothy Hauschulz, 48 years, was charged with a criminal offense and five more offenses. 35-year-old Tina McKiever-Haushulz was charged with the inability to prevent bodily harm and intentionally participating in a crime against a child.

Fox 11 reports that Timothy ordered Ethan to be punished for “not knowing 13 bible verses that would satisfy Timothy.” The punishment was dragging firewood at least two hours a day for a week. Timothy chose logs, but Damian had to control the punishment for younger children (Ethan has a twin brother, who was also bullied).

As little Ethan struggled to drag the log, Damian kicked him at least 100 times - sometimes using a belt or stick. Damian placed a 20-pound log on the child's chest and rolled it over the boy's body, then stood on top of him while Ethan lay face down in a puddle, and then buried the child alive in a snowdrift - without a coat or shoes.

According to the complaints, Damian repeatedly beat the twin, Ethan, who was also punished.

Ethan died of hypothermia, but he had other extensive injuries, including head, chest and abdominal injuries caused by a blunt object, as well as a rib fracture, a medical expert stated.

In an interview with the police, Damian said that he “did nothing that could cause harm” to Ethan. He described the boy lying in the snow as "covered by his own little snow coffin."

All three are expected to stand trial on Monday.
