'I was silent for 7 years': an American who shot his wife and 9-month-old daughter told what happened in their house

Neal Antwistl, who has been in prison since 2008 for killing his wife and child, wrote to her parents that Rachel actually killed their daughter first, and then herself.

In 2006, the United States was shaken by a terrible event: 28-year-old Neil Antwistl in his own house in Hopkinson, Massachusetts, shot his 24-year-old wife Rachel and nine-month-old Lillian. After the murder, he fled to London, where he was caught and extradited to the States, writes Life.ru.

At trial, it turned out that Entwistle felt constant humiliation due to accusations that he was not able to find a job. At the same time, the man was not going to work - on the Internet, he was looking not for vacancies, but for beautiful girls.

In 2008, he was sentenced to two life sentences without parole. The world has seen footage of a man either crying or laughing (the public interpreted this in different ways, although lawyers claim that he needed handkerchiefs to wipe away his tears) - this happens in court at the moment when photographs of the murdered wife and daughter are shown . After this, Entwistle listened to his sentence without emotion on his face.

Recently, Neal's father, Cliff Enthistle, published a book about what happened in support of his son. In it, he cites Neil's letter to Rachel's parents, where he confesses that his wife was severely depressed when her daughter died, and then she committed suicide.

“I didn’t kill Rachel and Lilly, but I am to blame for what happened, not Rachel. It's hard for me to talk about this. I was silent for seven years about the day when we lost two of the most wonderful people in the world.”

Entwistle claims that he was hiding the truth from everyone, first not to darken the memory of Rachel, and then - on the advice of lawyers. But now he decided to get rid of this burden. According to him, he tried to disguise suicide by murder, only Rachel's DNA was found at the barrel of a hidden gun, and his was found at the handle.
