Purim ... the holiday of the victory of Good over Evil

I do not consider myself a religious person. More than that: I always believed and believe that there are many people among religious leaders who have made the Faith a trough, from which one can comfortably eat all my life, while teaching others and accusing them of insufficient religiousness and oblivion of traditions. In addition, religious fanaticism is disgusting to me in any religion, including Judaism. I am sure that the fanatic discredits Faith, God and is a disgrace and shame for any true believer.

But today I do not want to argue on this topic and, although I cannot boast, as I have already said, a particular religiosity, with great pleasure I congratulate you on the upcoming Purim. Honestly, this is a magical holiday! On this day, they remember the miraculous salvation from the wiles of Haman in Persia and thank Esther and Mordechai. Moreover, according to tradition, the fun should be accompanied by a masquerade and rampant drunkenness. And it’s necessary to get drunk in such a way so as “not to distinguish the right hand from the left, and Haman - from Mordechai”. Well, this we easily, and even with pleasure. But when I say that Purim is a magical holiday, I mean something else.

Purim is shrouded in mystery. Just a few mysteries: why is the book of Esther, the only book of the Jewish canon, not yet found in the Dead Sea Scrolls? Why does the Talmud say that the time of miracles ended with Esther? Why is God's name never mentioned in the scroll? Why does tradition say that after the coming of the Messiah, all the books of the prophets will be forgotten, all holidays will be canceled and only the book of Esther will be preserved, and only Purim will remain forever? Why is it possible to break the biblical covenant and dress in women's clothing on this day?

For all these and many other questions there are no definite answers. And there are still debates about whether the historical event of saving Jews from genocide in the Persian Empire took place Queen Esther and Mordechai 2,5 thousands of years ago ...

The descendants of Amalek, the grandson of Esau, were, are and will be anti-Semitic. They will not go anywhere as long as there is a nutrient medium for their reproduction - dullness, a feeling of one’s own mediocrity and worthlessness, an indomitable desire to find the cause of one’s troubles and insolvency. That is, in other words, squalor and limitation. And the fight against them, the victory of the forces of Good over the forces of Evil is no longer just a struggle of Jews against Judeophobes of all stripes - it is a universal human phenomenon.

The number of attacks on Jews, desecration of cemeteries and synagogues is increasing every day, and the criticism of Zionism and Israeli politics is a distinctive feature of the new anti-Semitism. Favorite, well tested by Soviet ideologists and propagandons way: the hatred of the Jews is masked by the fight against "the damned Zionists." Convenient to stupid! And now this podonstvo has been adopted today by seemingly “decent” countries. Countries that do not want to remember the prophetic words of Rabbi Kahane that all attempts to feed the crocodile of his neighbor are not only mean and immoral, but also stupid: he devoured them to be torn apart, so he will crawl behind you all over the world ... anti-Semitism flourished in color, when Western democracies openly support the murderers, support those who have a call on the banners for the destruction of the Jewish people, Purim takes on special significance.

Because one of the main ideas of the Scroll of Esther is the idea that the fate of the Jewish people is in the hands of Divine Providence, that the people will be saved, that he himself will hang on the tree that Haman prepared for Mordechai. And this is not a parable, not a beautiful fairy tale with a happy ending - this is the truth. Because already in the twentieth century, during the days of Purim, the Nazi leaders who tried to solve the “Jewish question” were hanging in nooses; during the days of Purim, Saddam capitulated, sending missiles to Israel. And like Haman, who finally found his noose. During the days of Purim, Stalin died, died on the threshold of his planned liquidation of Jews in his empire. It was. And so it will be. Therefore, do not be surprised when Iranian fascists and other Nasrallahs twitch on the gallows.

Happy holiday to you. And the Jews. And not the Jews. Purim is all concerned - after all, this is the divine celebration of the victory of Good over Evil. And do not forget to get drunk so as not to distinguish the right hand from the left.
