'Traitor! You will answer for this! ': The last minutes of the life of the journalist Khashogji are decoded

The Turkish edition of Haberturk told about the content of audio recordings made on the day of the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Hashoji in the consulate of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul.

Khasogji entered the October 2 consulate at 13: 14 local time. Haberturk writes that four Saudi agents immediately surrounded him there. One of them grabbed the journalist's hand, to which he exclaimed: “Release my hand, what are you doing?”. A skirmish began between the journalist and the agents. First, it took place in the visa department of the consulate (block A), then continued in the administrative zone (block B). Then they started beating and torturing the journalist.

On the records with the participation of Khasogji, in addition to the voices of the four agents, three more male voices are heard. Of these, only two have been identified so far. One belongs to the consul of Saudi Arabia in Turkey, Mohammed al-Uteibi, the second - to Saudi intelligence colonel Maher Mutreb, who is considered an approximate of the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman.

Haberturk claims that Mutreb met Hashoji in the administrative department of the consulate and told him: “Traitor! You will answer for this! ”. After 13 minutes after the journalist arrived at the consulate, Mutreb went to unit C, where the consul's office is located, and started calling to Saudi Arabia. In total, he made 19 calls, including advisor to the crown prince Saud Al-Qahtani. It was reported that Mutreb reported to him on the implementation of the "operation".

The sounds of skirmish, beatings and torture of Khasogdzhi got into two audio recordings that last a total of 11 minutes, writes Haberturk. After that, in blocks A and B for almost two hours it was quiet; Turkish law enforcement agencies suggest that at this time the Saudis used special signal jammers. Then, according to Haberturk, three agents descended the stairs, and one of them deleted the video from the security cameras.

Also, the voice got a voice of a man who complains that he is afraid to put on the clothes of the man "whom we killed 20 minutes ago." Turkish intelligence agencies suggest that it was said by engineer Mustafa al-Mudaini. He put on Khasogji’s belongings and walked out of the consulate through the back door to cover the traces of the murder. At the same time he stayed in his own shoes. For the Turkish investigators, this was one of the proofs that the person who left the consulate was not Khasogji, Haberturk writes.

The publication notes that Turkish law enforcement agencies do not have records from Block B, where the journalist is supposed to have been killed. But they came to the conclusion that his body was dismembered, since the walls there were recently painted, traces of chemicals and fingerprints of alleged killers were found in the premises.
