An Arizona teenager survived a lightning strike. VIDEO
13-year-old Josiah Widman from Phoenix (Arizona) survived the thunderbolt and admitted that he “feels like Superman after this.”
The moment of impact was filmed on a video surveillance camera, writes Fox News.
Immediately after the lightning strike, the guy lost consciousness and was in a critical condition. Fortunately, doctors managed to save his life.
He told me that he was walking through the park on the way home to hide from the rain that had started. Then, he said, he felt a "sharp surge of heat," after which everything disappeared.
“It started to rain heavily, so I decided to return home. Then I suddenly felt this surge of heat, then everything went dark,” Josiah said.
A teenager’s friend, Javier Tapia, 13 years old, was also struck by lightning, but did not receive serious injuries.
Widman fell and hit his head, this led to a concussion. The witness to the incident immediately gave the guy first aid, which, according to doctors, saved his life.
A doctor from the Phoenix Children's Hospital said that the electricity that passed through Widmann’s body led to cardiac arrest, so it was artificial respiration and indirect heart massage made by a stranger that saved the teenager’s life.
Widman's mother said that the skateboard, which her son was holding in his hands, was badly hurt by an electric shock, the teenager admitted that she felt tingling like needles some time after the impact.
The boy quickly recovered and was discharged from the hospital after a few days.
Widman said that he could not believe that he had “conquered death,” and that he feels yourself a superhero.
“I feel like I’m Superman now,” he admitted.
