Aeroflot passengers on the 3 of the day were stuck at the airport in New York and flew to Moscow without food and water

On January 7, the Russian airline Aeroflot announced the cancellation of several flights from Moscow to New York and back due to chaos at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York caused by difficult weather conditions.

“Due to the difficult infrastructure situation at John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) and the acute shortage of parking spaces for aircraft, the airport has announced a restriction on aircraft acceptance. In the near future, the harbor will operate only to dispatch the backlog of unserved flights,” the message says.

In this regard, Aeroflot was forced to cancel flights: SU100/SU101 Moscow - New York - Moscow; SU102/SU103 Moscow - New York - Moscow; SU123 New York - Moscow, scheduled for January 7.

Some Aeroflot flights from New York were canceled on January 4, so their passengers were stuck at the airport on the day's 3, the newspaper writes TJ.

In order to pick up these people, the airline sent 2 aircraft to Washington, and the passengers were taken there from New York by road. But in Washington, Aeroflot’s passengers were denied service due to a traffic collapse, which was also caused by bad weather in this city.

Thus, passengers heading to Russia could not leave the United States for almost 3 days. On January 7, 2 Aeroflot flights were delayed arrived in Sheremetyevo, but, as one of the passengers in the social network writes FacebookThey had to fly for 9 hours without food or water.

“The passengers of flight SU539 were finally boarded in Washington - almost three days after the scheduled flight from New York. However, it is proposed to fly without any food at all, as well as tea/coffee. There is no water in the toilets either. Aeroflot employees say that the airport services are to blame for everything. But I saw with my own eyes that an airport representative filed a complaint against an Aeroflot employee because the company did not submit the necessary documentation on time,” wrote Ulyana Malashenko.

During the days of waiting, many photos and videos of filled airports appeared on social networks, as well as criticism from passengers against Aeroflot.

In addition to delays and cancellations, one of Aeroflot’s planes had to return, having flown most of the way from Moscow to New York: flight SU122, which took off from Moscow on January 6, returned back to Sheremetyevo due to the closure of Kennedy Airport.
