Poll: Trump is catching up with Clinton

Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, closed the gap with Democratic Representative Hillary Clinton by 10 percentage points over the week. This is evidenced by the results of polls by the newspaper The Washington Post and ABC News.

According to the latest survey data, conducted from October 24 to 27, Clinton is ahead of Trump by only 2%, and 47% of voters are ready to vote for her, and 45% for Trump. Don't forget that there are also Libertarian Party candidates Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein in the presidential race. 4% and 2% of voters, respectively, support them.

At the same time, sociologists point to an increase in support for Trump among Republican supporters: at the beginning of the week it was 82%, and by the end - 86%. Trump's position also strengthened among his party's mixed group of voters and among independent voters: 78% at the beginning of the week and 84% at the end.

According to the poll, Republicans expressed greater willingness to participate in the elections, while supporters of Clinton are counting on her victory without their participation.

Trump continues to insist on the professor who guessed the outcome of the 8 election in a row, Allan Lichtman. A month ago, before the billionaire's sexist expressions, he announced the results of his forecast and called Trump the next president of America, writes The Washington Post.

The professor built his forecast on the method, which he gave the name "Keys to the White House". This method includes 13 items. Thanks to them, the winner is determined. Among them are: the majority of the party in the House of Representatives, the candidate’s charisma, the economic situation in the country, international politics and military operations abroad.

According to the professor, 5 from 13 “keys” points to the defeat of the Democrats: the Republicans won the midterm elections to Congress in 2014, the inability to participate in the election race of the current head of state Barack Obama, the lack of major internal reforms and significant successes in foreign policy during his second presidential term, as well as a lack of charisma from Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

According to the method of Likhtman, as reported SlowDemocrats have lost a chance to win the elections, as there were six “keys” against them. The decisive factor was the participation in the election of a candidate from the Libertarian party, Gary Johnson, provided that at least 5% of voters vote for him.

At the same time, the expert acknowledged that the nomination of a billionaire as a candidate from the Republican Party made the outcome of the elections the most difficult to predict in the last 32 of the year. “We have never seen a candidate like Donald Trump before, and Trump could well break the historical patterns that existed since 1860 of the year,” he pointed out.
