One person died during demolition of a road bridge in Ohio
The bridge, which was in the process of demolition, collapsed on the interstate highway Interstate 75, killing one worker and damaging a truck. The incident occurred on Monday evening in the city of Cincinnati, as reported by local authorities.
The destroyed bridge was part of an old interchange leading to Hopple Street, Cincinnati Fire Department officials tweeted.
The collapse happened around 10: 30 pm EST. Around midnight, authorities reported that they were developing a plan of action to extract the worker’s body from under the rubble.
At 1: 30 nights, authorities reported that they used inflatable balloons to lift part of the structure and take out the body.
Also, the publication of the Washington Post informs that a truck driver has suffered because of the collapse.
Police Chief Jeff Blackwell called the incident an industrial accident and said something went wrong during the bridge demolition procedure, adding that the injured driver was "very lucky," he wrote. AmericaRu.com
