German low-cost airline reduced flights to Russia
Foreign airlines, due to falling demand for international flights, continue to decrease their activity in Russia.
Following the maternal Lufthansa, its subsidiary low-cost airline Germanwings will move from November to Domodedovo and will be limited to one flight per day from Moscow to Berlin.
In fact, the Lufthansa group, which has big plans for the development of international routes and has recently flown to ten regions of Russia, will reduce its presence in the non-profitable market to a minimum.
At the end of 2014 - the beginning of 2015, a number of airlines announced their departure from the Russian market or the reduction of flight programs. For example, Srilankan Airlines announced the termination of flights on the route Colombo - Moscow; flights from Moscow to Vienna were canceled by the budget carrier Niki, which is part of the AirBerlin group of companies.
The British carrier EasyJet and the Hungarian low-cost airline Wizzair have also announced a significant reduction in flights to Moscow. Finnish airline Finnair has temporarily canceled flights to the Russian regions. From flights on the route Bangkok - Moscow also refused the company Thai Airways International.
