About 800, residents of several localities were evacuated due to a fire at the Kuzminsky proving ground in the Rostov region of Russia, where ammunition exploded.

An emergency occurred on Tuesday at 7: 45 Moscow time (00: 45 in NY) when the equipment of one of the units left the field camp for scheduled combat training.

The press service of the Southern Military District reported that in the area of ​​the Kuzminki settlement a self-propelled artillery unit caught fire from a short circuit.

As a result of ignition, the ammunition charge was detonated, two servicemen received contusions, and one of them lost a finger.

According to the military, there was a fire at the site, which is currently extinguished.
