Moscow Mayor's Office will not perpetuate the memory of Nemtsov

Moscow Mayor’s Office refused to offer the State Duma Deputy Dmitry Gudkov to perpetuate the memory of former Russian Deputy Prime Minister Boris Nemtsov, killed in Moscow 27 February of this year.

Gudkov offered to perpetuate the memory of a politician in any way: from renaming the bridge where Nemtsov was killed, to the name of the street in his honor and installing a memorial plaque.

However, the city hall on the proposal Gudkov refused, referring to the fact that since the death of Boris Nemtsov too little time has passed. Thus, the installation of a memorial plaque at the place of residence is possible no earlier than 10 years after death, and at the place of work no earlier than two years later.
