'I love you': the last words of George W. Bush. How America says goodbye to the former president

The current president returned on his plane to Washington from Buenos Aires, where the G-20 summit took place on Sunday morning, December 2. Trump canceled the press conference out of respect for the memory of Bush Sr. and did not respond to journalists' questions about his critical remarks about the former leader.

On the morning of December 5, the Washington Cathedral, which was completed during the term of Bush’s only presidential term, will begin the farewell ceremony for the politician. December 5 announced the day of mourning in the United States.

After a farewell ceremony in Washington, Bush's body will be transported to St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston, where the former president lived and died. On December 6, he will be buried in a cemetery at Texas A&M University in College Station. On the territory of the university there is the George W. Bush Presidential Library.

The former president will be buried next to his wife Barbara, who passed away in April 2018, and his daughter Robin, who died in 1953 at a young age from leukemia.

Bush’s Last Days

He also noted that before his death, all of Bush Sr.’s children called him and said goodbye to their father. Bush's last days, notes a close friend of the politician, were “peaceful and kind.”

And not just for the four years he spent as the 41st President of the United States, but for the more than 70 years he dedicated to serving the country he loved—from a famed aviator who nearly died in World War II. to the Commander-in-Chief of our armed forces, with many stops along the way.
