Ku Klux Klanov preparing for an assassination attempt on Obama and Muslims

The Albany District Court in New York State is considering the case of Xleum Glendon Scott Crawford, who intended to use the remote-controlled X-ray machine he assembled as a weapon of mass destruction to fight Muslims and President Barack Obama.

Crawford is a member of the ultra-right group Ku Klux Klan, banned in the United States. He called his device the “Hiroshima Button”, and the press dubbed it the “Death Ray”.

However, the defendant’s lawyer, Kevin Luibrand, claims that his client was drawn into this scam by US Secret Service agents, while Crawford himself wanted to abandon this project even at the “piece of paper” stage on which this idea was outlined.

To prove his words, the lawyer cites the following argument: his client would not have been able to assemble this complex apparatus if the government had not supplied him with components through “criminal” sources. However, Luibrand admits that Crawford holds radical political views and considers Muslim extremism the main danger threatening Europe today.

Crawford and his accomplice, Eric Faith, were arrested in 2013, on charges of attempting to irradiate a mosque in Albany and a Muslim school in nearby Colony. According to investigators, the conspirators also planned to attack the White House - they discussed this project in May 2012, during a telephone conversation, the recording of which was presented to the court.

In 2014, Eric Faith was found guilty of supporting the terrorists, threatened with 15 years in prison. However, the sentence was postponed in the hope that Faith would make a deal with the investigation and give evidence against Crawford.

Rodney Margolis, head of the Jewish Federation of Northeast New York, confirmed during the hearing that the defendant tried to interest leaders of the state's Jewish community in his “project” by offering to “kill the enemies of Israel while they sleep.” Margolis was horrified by this proposal, he immediately called the police, and the FBI set up surveillance of Crawford.

Currently, hearings are ongoing. A number of charges were brought against the defendant, including an attempt to manufacture, create, acquire, transfer, obtain, possess and use a device for spraying radiological material, as well as a plot to create weapons of mass destruction and its propaganda.
