User Reddit under the name GoblinsStoleMyHouse published a story about how he creatively avenged the authorities of the city of Redondo Beach, California, for a felled tree.

The author of the post calls himself an arborist - a specialist in tree care.

According to him, he took care of the 30-year-old pepper tree that grew at his home, and even gave it a name - Clyde.

But in 2014, the municipality decided to cut down Clyde, as its roots began to spoil the sidewalk, and the owner of the tree was forced to pay for its destruction and restoration of the sidewalk, as Clyde grew in his yard.

After that, the arborist decided to take revenge on the city, and secretly landed Xvumx with sequoias in the parks and courtyards of the city. Including before the city council. To date, he said, the root system of each of these trees has grown at least 127 meters in diameter, and in the coming months the redwoods will begin to grow rapidly.

“You killed Clyde, but I replaced him with more than a hundred living giants. And they will become giants. They will grow to 30-90 meters and live more than 2,5 for thousands of years, ”the arborist wrote in Reddit.

According to his calculations, the destruction of one sequoia will cost the city a half thousand dollars.

Commentators on Reddit praised the author’s ingenuity, but some suggested that he was telling the truth, stressing that sequoias needed a lot of rain and foggy weather to grow, while California is a dry region.

In addition, one user, who also calls himself an arborist, criticized the author for not keeping track of Clyde, and for the sake of revenge, he killed hundreds more trees.
