Israeli army to tighten measures against Jewish perpetrators
The instructions of the Israeli army (IDF) to combat riots involving Jews are no different from those applied to Arab residents of the Palestinian Authority.
This was told by the army officers. This is a set of orders and regulations that Israeli soldiers who serve in disputed territories in Judea and Samaria are required to follow.
According to them, the need to tighten actions to restore order with the participation of Jewish settlers is caused by the “increasing degree” of confrontation with them, which has been observed in recent years.
The military instruction, which also applies to police officers and border guards (MAGAV), gives four reasons, each of which allows the military to apply adequately tough measures against violators.
It:
- Damage to Arab property or life threatening actions for a Palestinian;
- throwing stones in the direction of the Israeli security forces and law and order (military, police, MAGAV fighters);
- insult (verbal) soldier, police officer or a soldier MAGAV;
- malicious damage to army property.
To prevent or stop the commission of these actions, the Israeli soldier has the right to use the entire arsenal at his disposal to combat riots and extremist manifestations, including hand-to-hand combat and self-defense techniques.
