Because of the performance in the Crimea, the singer will be banned from entering Ukraine
The Foreign Ministry will initiate a ban on entry into Ukraine by the Balkan singer and composer Goran Bregovich.
A representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Yevgeny Perebiynis, said that the ministry is closely watching which public persons or politicians visit the Crimea, especially if such visits are accompanied by statements that they question the peninsula’s identity with Ukraine.
“According to the information that we have at our disposal, Goran Bregovic did not enter the territory of occupied Crimea from a checkpoint controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, therefore he himself, accordingly, violated the legislation of Ukraine,” Perebiinis said.
Perebiynis also said that many politicians have already been banned from entering Ukraine. He did not specify the specific number of such persons.
The Bregovic concert, scheduled for May 16 in Kiev, was canceled by the organizers.
The cancellation of the concert is most likely due to the performance of Bregovich in the annexed Crimea 27 of March, during which the singer said that the possibility of canceling concerts in Europe due to his arrival in Sevastopol does not disturb him.
