The Dow Jones index at the opening of US exchanges set a record for its entire 121-year history and exceeded 22 000 points, according to stock data.

Immediately after the opening of the auction, the index crossed the line, and then rose to 22 036 points. The growth of Dow Jones occurs against the backdrop of an increase in the value of Apple shares after the publication of financial results. Paper companies went up by 5,49% - to $ 158,29. According to the statements, the company's profit for the reporting period increased by 12%. IPhone sales for fiscal third quarter rose to 41 million units.

Thus, to date, the Dow Jones index has grown by 11,1% over the year, which means that an investment of 10 000 dollars will now cost 33 600 dollars.

Also in today's trading, the NASDAQ Composite index of high-tech companies rose by 0,21%, to 6376,52 points, and the S&P 500 broad market index - by 0,02%, to 2476,88 points.

Earlier, the historical maximum of the oldest stock index was recorded in June, it was 21 240 points. Analysts linked the index's growth with the testimony of the former head of the FBI, James Komi in the Senate. He spoke about the position of the American President Donald Trump on the case of "Russia's interference in the elections" and said that he himself was the source of a leak in the media of personal talks with the head of the United States.
