Honda will pay $ 24 million for non-whites discrimination in the US
The American credit division of the Japanese automobile concern Honda agreed to pay 24 million dollars to its clients belonging to Latin American, black or other ethnic minorities in the United States, after the company was accused of racism.
According to the US Department of Justice, since 2011, representatives of the auto giant regularly sold cars on credit to ethnic minorities at a higher percentage than white Americans.
In a statement, Honda representatives stressed that they strongly condemn discrimination and will require their dealers to revise credit programs.
According to lawyers, African Americans paid an average of 250 dollars more for a car similar to the one that was bought by a white Honda client.
