Facebook reported revenue growth in the fourth quarter of last year by more than 50% compared to the same period of 2014.

Quarterly revenue of this company amounted to 5,8 billion dollars.

The company's net income amounted to 1,56 billion dollars or 54 cents per share. A year ago, its net income was 701 million dollars or 25 cents per share.

Such revenues were provided by mobile advertising and video. During the reporting quarter, the social network received 80% advertising revenue from mobile devices, compared to 78% in the previous quarter and 69% for the same period 2014 of the year.

“This is much stronger advertising growth than we expected,” said Evercore ISI analyst Ken Sena.

The company also reported a significant increase in the number of users. Now there are 1,59 billion active monthly users. Of these, 1,44 billion go to Facebook from mobile devices - an increase of 21%.

Facebook's costs continue to increase, up 21% from $2,72 billion to $3,28 billion. In 2015, expenses grew faster than income. The company actively hired employees and invested in virtual reality projects, the development of artificial intelligence, and also worked on the availability of the Internet using drones in remote corners of the Earth.

After the end of the reporting presentation, Facebook shares rose 13%.
