For the past 70 years, Queen Elizabeth II has been exchanging letters with a woman she has never met in person who lives in Park River, North Dakota. Insider.

Adele Hankey, 96, was born on April 21, 1926, the same day as the late Queen of England.

Hankey sent her first letter in 1953 when Elizabeth was crowned. Since then, the late queen has sent handwritten birthday letters to Hanks every year, which has become a tradition.
