MS-13 gang member sentenced to 40 years in prison for killing a child

A member of the street gang MS-13, known by the nickname “The Beast” (“Animal”), who confessed to killing a teenager in 2015, was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

After his release from prison 23-year-old Joel Martinez will be subjected to deportation, reports Fox News.

Martinez pleaded guilty to the murder of 15-year-old Irwin Javier de Paz Castro with a knife.

During the investigation, an undercover agent secretly recorded a tape recorder. Martinez in the murder of a guy, as well as a statement of the fact of his belonging to the gang MS-13.

According to him, he stabbed a teenager three times.

After the murder, Martinez became a full member of the gang and went through an initiation process, which he also managed to record on video.

From the video, it follows that during the “dedication,” members of MS-13 beat the novice with their hands and feet, while one of the leaders of the clique slowly counts up to thirteen.

Lawyer Martinez asked for his client 30 years of imprisonment, because he allegedly had to join the gang under duress.

According to the lawyer, Joel Martinez was a victim of MS-13 threats against his family, which forced him to join the gang. Gangsters allegedly threatened to kill his family.

A gang of MS-13 was founded by immigrants from Central America in Los Angeles in the 1980's. Today in the US there are more than 10 thousands of fighters of this gang, and around the world their number is estimated from 100 to 300 thousands of members, turning it into one of the most influential groups of the planet.
