At the cost of his life: in Iowa, his father saved his little daughter from the attack of a dog

An Iowa resident died saving his 5-year-old daughter from a dog.

Lee County police officers on Friday, May 31, received a call to Fort Madison home near Iowa State Prison around 10: 31. A dog attack has been reported.

Upon arrival, the officers saw a “big dog” that tormented Robert Jozev Kip, 33-year-old. He lay in the courtyard on his back.

The police could not identify the breed of dog, but it was so “aggressive” that it did not release the victim. To stop the attack, they had to shoot an unmanaged animal.

The father, who was seriously injured, ordered the police to examine his daughter, who was first attacked by a dog. The staff provided first aid to the girl.

"Mr. Quick protected his daughter and undoubtedly saved her life," the Lee County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The injured father was taken to Fort Madison Hospital, where they stated death.

The reasons for the death were not immediately clear, but according to the GoFundMe page, created to help with funeral expenses, Quick had a heart attack at the scene.

The dog belonged to a family member and was supervised by homeowners of the house where the attack occurred.

The man left his wife and their four children.
