'To be better': Melania Trump made the first statement
First Lady Melania Trump on May 7 announced the launch of the “Be Best” campaign, aimed at raising awareness and combating online bullying, as well as teaching American children to communicate “with respect and compassion,” reports The New York Daily News.

“Social media can have both positive and negative influences on our children, but too often it is used for a negative purpose. It is our responsibility as adults to educate and remind them that when they speak out, whether verbally or online, they must choose their words wisely,” Melania Trump said during a press conference in the White House Rose Garden, where the audience included and her husband Donald Trump, who is widely known for using social media to criticize and disparage his political opponents.
The 48-year-old First Lady promised to use her influence in the White House to promote "social cognition and self-knowledge."
“When children learn these important life skills, they will be able to communicate openly with each other while developing positive feelings of mutual respect, compassion and self-worth,” she said.
In addition to cyberbullying, the First Lady's Be Best campaign will be dedicated to combating the abuse of opioids, drugs and promoting general well-being.
After the statement of the first lady, President Trump signed a document signaling the launch of the program.
“It was truly a beautiful and heartfelt speech. This is what she really feels. America is truly blessed to have a First Lady who is so dedicated to our country and our children,” Trump said.
