Belarus and Israel abolished visa regime
The government of Israel voted to introduce a visa-free regime with the Republic of Belarus. He is expected to take effect this year.
Minsk ratified the visa-free agreement with Israel back in January 2015. At the same time, the ratification process in Israel was blocked by the legal adviser to the government.
The bilateral visa waiver agreement itself was signed in Minsk in September 2014. It regulates issues related to the introduction on a bilateral basis for citizens of Belarus and Israel who are holders of valid national passports (with the exception of diplomatic and service passports), visa-free entry into or exit from the territory of the other party for the purpose of a visit or stay not exceeding 90 days within six months from the date of first entry.
Knesset member from the Our Home Israel party Sofa Landwehr, co-chair of the Israel-Belarus interparliamentary friendship association, welcomed the government's approval of a visa-free regime between the two countries.
“Despite the fact that NDI is in opposition, we work effectively to defend the interests of Israel and fulfill our obligations to our voters. The abolition of visas will contribute to the development of bilateral relations between Israel and Belarus, which is of great importance not only for cooperation in the economic field, but also for the rapprochement between the peoples of the two countries,” Landwehr said.
