Court of Appeal Partially Restores Trump's Immigration Decree

The California Court of Appeals 13 in November allowed the use of the last immigration decree of President Donald Trump to be partially applied.

The court decided that the US government may prohibit citizens of six countries from entering the country with a predominantly Muslim population if they do not have relatives in the States, writes “Voice of America".

The San Francisco-based Appellate Court of the Ninth Circuit also partially granted the Trump administration’s request to block the lower court’s decision, which suspended the new decree.

The ruling affects citizens of Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia and Chad, but does not apply to citizens of the other two countries mentioned in the decree - the DPRK and Venezuela, since they were added to the decree later, after the court suspended its validity.

Recall that decree provides The 90 day ban on travel to the US for citizens of 6 countries - Iran, Libya, Syria, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. It concerns those who are outside the United States and who did not have a valid US visa issued prior to 17: 00 27 in January 2017. Citizens of these 6 countries who received a visa before 27 in January of 2017 will be able to enter the United States. After the decree was adopted in March 2017, several courts suspended it, calling the decision contrary to the Constitution. The proceedings on this issue are ongoing.
