American journalist to stand trial in Iran
The Iranian media reported that the Washington Post journalist, arrested in July last year, was charged.
Referring to the words of the prosecutor, the official news agency IRNA reports that Jason Rezayan will appear before the Revolutionary Court of Iran.
It is not reported yet what exactly the head of the Tehran bureau of the newspaper, who has two citizenships - the United States and Iran, was accused of.
At the same time, on Wednesday in Geneva, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, who held talks here with US Secretary of State John Kerry on Tehran’s nuclear program, told reporters that in the case of Jason Rezayan, the Iranian government is ready to provide “all possible humanitarian assistance,” but all other questions should be addressed to Iranian law enforcement agencies, on which, according to the minister, the development of this case now depends, writes Voice of America.
