An actor from Passion Anatomy admitted that he is an illegal immigrant
Hollywood actor Bambajan Bamba admitted that his family illegally moved to the United States from Côte d'Ivoire in 1993 after the death of the country's first president, Felix Houphouet-Boigny, in search of refuge and protection.
According to Los Angeles Times, the actor said he wants to be a voice for people who qualify for the DACA program and work in Hollywood.
“Immigrants are not criminals. We're not here to take your job. We are here to give. We are not only Mexicans and Latinos. We are also black. We are from both Asia and the Middle East. We are your neighbors, your doctors, your children's teachers, and sometimes you see us on TV in your homes: we play the characters you love. We are just one of you. The only difference is that you have a certain piece of paper that is supposed to allow you to move around the country freely,” the actor said.
He noted that he would like Hollywood to play a role and influence government policies in favor of people counting on the DACA program. Bamba launched a program called #StandWithBamba in social networks and asked people sign the petition in defense of migrants.
The petition has already been signed by 1219 people.
Bambajan Bamba played in the series Anatomy of Passion, Suicide Squad and Black Panther.
