On June 9, the premiere of the film “Moscow Never Sleeps” will take place in the United States.
9 June in the United States goes to the rental of Russian-Irish drama “Moscow Never Sleeps”Irish director Johnny O`Reilly.
“The director of the film is an Irishman who lived for some time in Russia, wrote a wonderful story about us, and was completely immersed in our life. Therefore, I cannot call him a foreign director in relation to the soul. He understood the Russian soul very deeply, as if with humor,” said actress Alena Babenko.
The film centers on the story of five Muscovites connected by hidden ties. Their lives testify to the courage, cruelty and strength of the Russian spirit, and also remind us how priceless humanity is.
“The film was made with a lot of love. The texts were as if they had not been invented, as if they had been overheard and observed. It seems to me that the director wanted to talk about people. Still, something hurts inside them, and something worries them... Both Moscow and Russia are like a kind of battery for Johnny O'Reilly. And for me he is absolutely a man of the Russian soul, regardless of where he was born, this man is dashing in character,” admitted Babenko.
The leading roles in the film were performed by famous Russian actors Mikhail Efremov, Alexey Serebryakov, Yury Stoyanov, Evgenia Brik, Oleg Dolin, Alena Babenko and others.
In the multi-story drama “Moscow never sleeps,” 5 images are revealed: Entrepreneur (Alexey Serebryakov), whose business empires are threatened by the collapse of influential and corrupt officials. A teenage girl (Anastasia Shalonko) from an incomplete family, whose only dream is to find her father who left her. A young man (Sergey Belov), forced to choose between his grandmother who raised him and his lover. The singer (Eugenia Brik), gifted with a stunning voice and beauty, “chained” to two men who will stop at nothing in the battle for her heart. The famous actor (Yuri Stoyanov), experiencing a personality crisis, which suddenly turns out to be drawn into the story of the abduction.
“Regardless of geopolitics, Moscow is a city that lives, rejoices and suffers, like any other. I am happy that in the current political situation, my film will be able to help American audiences satisfy curiosity about Russia and Russian people and, perhaps, see each other humanly, and not through the lens of television news, ”says film director Johnny O'Reilly.
