A woman discovered unknown pills at the bottom of a glass of coffee in Starbucks
Denis Lee 26 August found an alarming surprise at the bottom of a glass of drink, which she purchased at Starbucks, located at Smith's store in Layton, Utah.
According to the woman, at the bottom of a glass of frappuccino with green tea, she saw two mysterious pills, after which she immediately went to the emergency room, writes Fox 13.
According to her, the drink was tasteless, but quite acceptable for drinking. The children of the woman called her attention to the fact that there appeared to be pills at the bottom of the glass when she drank half a frappuccino.
Lee called a friend who works at another Starbucks cafe. He told her that the pills could be a cleansing agent, and advised Lee to go to the emergency room. Arriving at the hospital, the woman felt unwell, she began to vomit. She spent several hours in the medical institution, after which she was allowed to go home.
Lee described herself as a person visiting Starbucks up to three times a day, spending roughly 500 dollars a month at establishments on this network. Looks like she is ready to give the coffee giant another chance.
“Honestly, I think it was a mistake. I want to hope that this was a mistake. And I don’t want this to happen to anyone else,” the woman said.
According to her, she consulted a lawyer, but has not yet decided whether to file a claim for compensation. At the same time, she noted that she considers it fair that Starbucks and Smith's pay her bill for emergency medical services.
Smith's store director and the Starbucks cafe team, in which Li acquired the drink, has already apologized to the woman.
“This was a mistake, this should not have happened, and Starbucks and Smith's are working together to understand how this happened. We have also reminded our employees of the cleaning procedure to prevent a similar situation in the future,” the companies said in a statement.
