US authorities will change the application for a US visa

The US administration intends to make changes to the questionnaires filled out by citizens of foreign countries when applying for a US visa.

According to "Voice of America“, Late this week, the State Department formally submitted an application to the US Federal Registration Service, asking for approval of the new form of document as a permanent one.

For the first time a new version of the questionnaire was submitted in May of this year. It contains additional questions about the data of all ever used passports, information on accounts in social networks for the past five years, email addresses, telephone numbers, including mobile, as well as complete biographical information for the last 15 years, including residential addresses, information about work places and all overseas travel.

The provision of this information is voluntary, but unwillingness to answer questions may result in the refusal of a visa.

The new form of the questionnaire was approved by the administration as part of a campaign to tighten immigration policy. The State Department declined to say which countries would be required to provide this information to the consular services. At the same time, the diplomatic department explained that in the whole world “serious suspicions” are causing about 65 000 applications for US visas a year.

During the 2016 election campaign of the year, Donald Trump repeatedly called for a review of the rules for entry into the United States for holders of both immigration and non-immigration visas. After taking office, he signed a decree temporarily prohibiting citizens of six predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States.

This week, the president of the United States presented A new initiative, the implementation of which will reduce the number of legal immigrants who have the right to enter the country by 50% over the next 10 years.

After submitting an application for approval of a new form of the document, the Federal Registration Service has 60 days to consider possible claims from the public.
