San Francisco renamed tunnel in honor of Robin Williams
Nearly two years after the death of actor Robin Williams, San Francisco authorities renamed a tunnel in his honor.
A road sign reading "Robin Williams Tunnel" was installed at the entrance to the tunnel that connects San Francisco and Marin County, California.
The decision to change the name of the Waldo tunnel was signed by Governor Jerry Brown last year.
Thousands of dollars have been spent on the production of signs. All the money was donated by actor fans.
Robin Williams began his career in San Francisco and Los Angeles. In the middle of 1970, he worked as a stand-up comedian in these cities.
As wrote earlier by ForumDaily, Robin Williams was found dead on August 11, 2014 in his home in Tiberon, California. The 63-year-old Oscar winner committed suicide, police said.
