In Russia, will check Facebook emoticons
The Federal Service for Supervision in the Field of Communications, Information Technologies and Mass Communications in Russia (Roskomnadzor) sent a letter to the “Young Guard” of United Russia. Roskomnadzor asks her to initiate the examination of information in social networks for the presence of propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations. They want to check not only Russian social networks, but also foreign ones, including Facebook.
Thus, Roskomnadzor responded to the request of the senator from the Bryansk region, Mikhail Marchenko, who was very outraged by Apple's new emoticons with images of non-traditional families.
Young Guard representative Kirill Grinchenko said that he had not yet received an official appeal from Roskomnadzor, but the organization was ready to help understand the situation. Moreover, the Young Guard already has such experience. Previously, they conducted an examination of the “Children-404” communities on the social networks VKontakte and Facebook, which were created by Elena Klimova. Content was found there that violates Russian laws and promotes non-traditional sexual relationships among teenagers. Klimova was fined fifty thousand rubles, but the communities were not blocked.
