In Oklahoma, a zombie hunter shot a black policeman

In the US city of Sentinel, Oklahoma, law enforcement officers released a local resident of Dallas, Horton, who is suspected of shooting the city police chief. The victim managed to survive only by a miracle. Resonance to this occasion is added by the fact that Horton demonstrates racist attitudes, and the injured senior official is African American.

The attempted murder of Sentinel Police Chief Lewis Ross was committed last Thursday morning, CBS News reports. Before this, a man who introduced himself as Horton called 911 and threatened to detonate a bomb at the school. Police decided to search Horton's home, although an examination later showed that the threatening call was not made from his home.

As soon as Lewis entered the room, Dallas Horton fired several shots. Three bullets hit the police chief in the chest, and another hit the arm. Also, one of the bullets pierced the wall of a neighbor’s bathroom, RIA Novosti reports. Lewis was rushed to hospital but was diagnosed with only minor injuries and was soon released home.

The white wife of the injured African-American police officer, Mary Ross, is extremely grateful to his colleague for providing him with body armor. “If it weren’t for him, my husband wouldn’t have come home,” she said.

Meanwhile, police detained Dallas Horton and his wife. During interrogation, the suspect said he took the police for the criminals who broke into his house. However, Ross regarded this statement with suspicion.

According to the victim, at the scene were five police officers who loudly warned the residents of the house about their presence and intention to enter inside. Inhabitants of the house were also asked to stand in place with their hands up. Therefore, the actions of Horton can hardly be considered self-defense.

Horton spent less than a day in custody and was released in the evening. Although seven weapons and an explosive device were found in his house, the police found no reason to extend the arrest.

Please note that Dallas Horton's Facebook page contains racist posts. The suspect also liked to pose for the camera with a weapon in his hands. In one of the photographs published by The Daily Mail, he seems to appear in the image of the main character of the film “Terminator” - wearing dark glasses and holding a pump-action shotgun in his hand. Horton even has his hair combed back, like Arnold Schwarzenegger, who played in the action movie. A brutal image is spoiled only by a black manicure.

Mayor of Sentinel Sam Dlugonsky described Horton as a man obsessed with weapons and survival techniques. A neighbor of the suspect, David Delk added that Dallas is closed, wears black clothes and is suspicious of the authorities.

Horton's house has threatening signs posted on it. One of them says that a “certified zombie killer” lives in it. And on the other it says: “Watch out for zombies! Everyone who enters is personally responsible for the consequences.”
