In New York, in Times Square, volunteers organized an international celebration of 8 in March according to Russian traditions.

In the morning of March 7, a map of Russia of white-blue-red flowers and the slogan "From Russia with Love" appeared on the luminous screens of the square, reports RIA News.

Volunteers gave women flowers and congratulations on the holiday.

The action was decided to be held by several immigrants from Russia living in New York who found volunteers who wanted to help them on social networks.

According to one of the organizers of the celebration, photographer Kirill Timonin, many women react in surprise.

“For them, this is unexpected and unusual. Not so often, especially in Times Square, girls get flowers just for what they are. Here it is not very accepted, and Russia is perceived from the other side, ”he said.

In the US, this action was held for the first time. In 2018, the organizers plan to hold it in other cities of the country.
