The first triplets of this year were born at the Stradins Clinical Hospital (Latvia) - one boy and two girls. This became known on Tuesday, March 3.
The government approved the allocation of a lump-sum benefit to the mother of triplets Ilona Lipich in the amount of 8538 euros.
Discussing the decision on granting benefits, Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma praised Welfare Minister Uldis Auglis, noting that there has been progress in this regard since he took office.
In 2014, triplets were born in five Latvian families.
