In Yekaterinburg, they decided to test the Torah for extremism

At the end of last week, the prosecutor's office of the Kirov district of Yekaterinburg seized the books of TANAKH, including the Torah, as well as the books of the Prophets and Scriptures (Neviim and Ketuvim) in order to study them for “the presence of extremist content in these books.”

As one of the activists of the city’s Jewish community, S.K., who asked not to use his name, said in an exclusive interview with Kursor, the books were confiscated in the library of the Or-Avner Jewish gymnasium.

About a year ago, the gymnasium of the Yekaterinburg Jewish community center "Synagogue", called Or-Avner, was already threatened with closure.

According to the message of the Ural site Pravdaurfo, an inspection carried out by experts from the Federal Service for the Consumer Protection of Consumer Rights Protection and the Prosecutor's Office, with the participation of experts from the Federal Ministry of Justice, revealed dozens of gross violations: from problems with the compliance of the curriculum with state standards in the field of education to the web-grown catering department and products on the boxes with waste.

Each agency has made its list of claims, each of which takes more than a dozen pages.

Checks of the Jewish pedagogical institution are conducted against the backdrop of financial scandal.

According to the authors of the correspondence, “Inspections at Or-Avner revealed dozens of gross violations,” which was created with the support of the mayor’s office, the gymnasium now refuses to pay the city administration for renting the premises.

The total amount of debt that officials are trying to collect through court exceeds 40 million rubles, but community leaders insist that they have the right to free use.

Claims by the prosecutor's office, Rospotrebnadzor and the Ministry of Education may cast doubt on the very existence of the gymnasium - following inspections, cases under the 6 clauses of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, each of which faces many thousands of fines, are instituted, and for some of them the gymnasium may be closed for 3 a month.
