Ukraine signs an agreement with NATO
The Ukrainian government announced the signing of a treaty on military-technical cooperation with NATO.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine will approach the standards of the Alliance, said Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
“The government signs a support cooperation agreement with NATO. This is an agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the NATO support organization, which provides for the implementation of 4 trust projects together with NATO, including military-technical cooperation, communications, new communications and information technologies,” the prime minister said at a government meeting.
According to the head of government, Ukraine must modernize its army according to the model of the strongest armies and alliances, “which fight for world peace and, first of all, these are NATO standards.”
At the end of March, the Secretary General of the Alliance Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO is ready to examine Ukraine’s application for membership in the alliance if the country decides to file it.
Earlier, NATO said that the alliance is interested in the experience of Ukraine in countering aggression in a hybrid war.
