Evdokia Kovaleva works as a teacher of history and social studies at school number 20 in the village of Taiga in the Boguchansky district. When one of the 10 students in the 12 class in November wrote “Putin is a thief” on the blackboard, she held an educational conversation with schoolchildren, Reported Radio Liberty.

The conversation was recorded on video and posted in the "VKontakte". On the recording, you can hear the teacher say that he who wrote the phrase about Putin inflicted on the president "the deepest insult, which would have been shot in Soviet times." The teacher noted that if the children wrote like that in a letter to the Kremlin, then the guard of Vladimir Putin would have “quickly figured out” them.

As Radio Liberty learned on the evening of November 13, the student who wrote “Putin is a thief” on the blackboard confessed to his crime. On Wednesday, another meeting was held at school No. 20 to analyze what happened, with the participation of the class teacher “10A”. As Radio Liberty learned, no administrative sanctions were imposed on the student who wrote “Putin is a thief” on the blackboard.

On Wednesday, 14 in November, Nadezhda Kvitkovskaya, press secretary of the Ministry of Education of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, told reporters that she would not punish Evdokia Kovalev.

“This teacher worked in the education system for 57 years, she is a person of the old Soviet school, she defended her ideals. She did not raise her voice at the children, she only tried to focus attention on educational work, on their academic performance and discipline,” the website of Krasnoyarsk Channel 7 television quotes Kvitkovskaya as saying.

Meanwhile, after wide publicity of the incident at school No. 20, students of Russian educational institutions launched a flash mob - they write the words “Putin is a thief” on the board in their classes and post these photos on the Internet.

In particular, the phrase about Putin was written on a blackboard at Lobachevsky University in Nizhny Novgorod and at school number 100 in Krasnodar.

The conflict between teachers and students in Taezhniy is not the first case in Russian schools, directly or indirectly related to the protest activity of young people in the Russian regions.

So, in December 2017, the teacher of class “11A” of Barnaul school No. 110 tried to dissuade their students to go to a rally of Alexei Navalny’s supporters, frightening them with broken destinies and offering them, as an alternative, to go to a rally “in support of the annexation of Crimea.”
