Turkey joined the critics of Russia
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt авavusoglu said that Moscow’s behavior towards its neighbors cannot be justified by anything.
As an example, he called Ukraine, in particular the annexation of the Crimea, as well as Georgia.
The head of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) also expressed concern that representatives of the Tatar minority in Crimea are being repressed by the Russian authorities. A group of Turkish deputies visited the peninsula to assess the situation with the violation of the rights of the Crimean Tatars, and later make public the findings.
At the same time, Cavusoglu believes that the West should not have forced Ukraine to choose between Europe and Russia. According to the minister, Ankara is ready to play a “constructive role” in disagreements between Moscow and the West.
