At the same time, he said that any company that “dismisses its employees, builds a new factory or plant” in another country, “and then believes that it will import products back to the US and sell it here without any reckoning or consequences is mistaken. "

The billionaire and construction magnate, who takes office as President of 20 in January, said that the tax on crossing the border, which will be levied on goods produced in other countries, "will make care difficult financially."

“Please keep this in mind before making a very expensive mistake!” Wrote Trump.

However, Trump did not mention that the company still intends to move other Indiana jobs to 1100 to this country.

Trump praised Carrier during a visit to the Indianapolis plant, although he condemned such tax breaks during the election campaign. After announcing an agreement with Carrier, the elected president launched an attack against Rexnord, which, according to him, “pretty toughly fired all 300 employees” of a neighboring bearing plant and transferred jobs to Mexico.

Critics of the agreement with Carrier believe that it will encourage other companies to claim similar tax breaks in exchange for maintaining production in the United States.

However, Trump's economic adviser Anthony Scaramucci said:

“Companies must rely on tax holidays. We have the highest corporate taxes in the industrialized world. We need to reduce these corporate taxes to a competitive level ... I hope that every company executive in America will receive this beacon signal from the new Trump administration. "

The official corporate tax rate in the United States is 35%, but most companies pay far less after deducting the cost of doing business.

Hector Castillo-Olivares, the mayor of the Mexican city of Santa Catarina, where Carrier’s workplaces were planned to be transferred, told VOA that he was not worried about the change in the company's plans.
