On the day of its 60 anniversary IHOP sells three pancakes for 60 cents

After improvising with a brand name change, IHOP - International House of Pancakes - is back to basics and offering a promotion on the pancakes that made the food chain so popular. Today only, Tuesday July 17th, you can get a serving of three signature pancakes for just 60 cents.

From 7 in the morning to 7 in the evening on 17 in July, IHOP invites everyone to celebrate the 60 anniversary of the restaurant chain. Promotional offer is available only for customers and guests who order pancakes in a restaurant, not takeaway, writes Time. A portion of 60-cent pancakes can be received by each visitor.

“The IHOP name is synonymous with pancakes, pancakes and pancakes—a rallying cry that sets our menu and our restaurants apart from any other food outlet,” Chief Marketing Officer Brad Haley said in a press release. “To celebrate six decades of making pancakes and the love we've given to customers since we first opened in 1957, we've decided to treat friends with a 60-cent promotion that includes our world-famous Buttermilk pancakes - where it all began.”

The 60-cent pancakes aren't the first promotion IHOP has run to celebrate its anniversaries. The restaurant chain turned the idea into an annual offering. Last year, for example, the company offered the same three pancakes for 59 cents. IHOP is also known for giving away completely free pancakes in honor of National Pancake Day—usually in late February or early March.

In June, the company’s name got into the news feeds after the announcement that the company was going to change its name to “IHOb”, which would mean “International House of Burgers.” But after stormy discussions, the company representatives made a statement that it was just an attempt to draw attention to their new burger menu, and the name of the brand IHOP will remain the same.
